I saw this in my local bookshop and got so excited. I have been waiting for this book for years as Ioved Shantaram. This book continues the story of Lin a few years after the first book ends. Shantaram is loosely based on Gregory David Roberts life - he fled prison and escaped to Mumbai where he did live in the slums and have a drug addition. He did recover from this addition with the help of an Indian family. However although there are some real events in the book and it reads like a autobiography Roberts claims it is a fiction and that characters are based on almagamations of people and events he has witnessed over his lifetime. In other words it's fiction and good fiction at that.

I blame my sister in law for not telling me it was out earlier - she bought me Shantaram as a gift. However like Shantaram this book weights a ton and is long so I'll be getting this one on kindle!
